CENTENARY JUBILEE EXHIBITION

On 31st of July Dumka-Raiganj Province held the feast of St. Ignatius of Loyola at Mariampahar. Fathers, sisters and Christian community from various parishes gathered in abundance. There were about three thousand people all together.

The feast day celebration began with a solum procession from the downhill, led by the Girls of Holy Cross Convent and Gandhi Jayanti School and boys of St. Joseph hostel. Then the centenary jubilee flag was hoisted by the provincial of Dumka-Raiganj Fr. K.C Stephen S.J and a short speech delivered by Fr. Hillary D’Souza S.J, Youth Coordinator of Dumka-Raiganj Province.  Thereafter, the Bishop of Dumka Diocese Rev. Fr. Julias Marandi inaugurated the exhibition on Santhal Mission – CENTENARY JUBILEE of Dumka Rajganj Province.

The Holy Mass began with the lighting of the lamp by Rev. Fr. Julias Marandi, Bishop of Dumka Diocese. Rev. Bishop thoughtfully reminded all the commitment, dedication, hardships and commitment of the pioneering fathers from Malta and Sicily. The choir’s Melodious hymns and the colourful dances of the youth girls during the Eucharist aided the prayer mood of the people. At the end of Eucharistic celebration, wishing all the Jesuits “Happy Feast” on their feast day, they also felicitated all other fathers and siters who had come from far near parishes presenting a gift to each one as a token of love.

In the afternoon A delicious feast meal was served to all. After the meal a short cultural program was organised by Youth of Dumka Raiganj Cluster. The Dance drama presented by St. Joseph hostel boys was remarkable one; since it depicted the journey of Fr. Debono in Santhal Mission and his contribution. However, all the girls and boys who participated in the cultural programs have given their best and deserve a good appreciation. Thanks to the youth coordinators for making the day a successful and meaningful one. We also express our heartfelt gratitude to the Mariampahar Jesuit community for their meticulous plans and hospitality under the leadership of Fr. Jisuraj.S.J, Fr. Manoj Toppo.S.J,  and Fr. Samir Tigga.S.J.,  All felt at home.
